Student Support Facilitator

I am honoured to serve as the Student Support Facilitator within Buffalo Trail Public Schools! This is a division particularly close to my heart, as it is not only where I journeyed through my K-12 education in Innisfree but also where I have had the privilege of teaching various grade levels in elementary and secondary. I also was fortunate to be able to contribute to enhancing mental health knowledge and skills in various school communities through my work with MHCB program, VIBE.
Holding a multidisciplinary Master's degree in Education from the University of Calgary, my academic journey focused on supporting child and youth mental health, educational neuroscience, and education research. I maintain a variety of certifications and specialized training in the areas of trauma-informed practices, academic and behavioural interventions, child and youth counselling and development, and crisis intervention.
In my SSF role, my focus is on delivering services that are child-centred and that emphasize trauma-informed care while embracing diversity and inclusivity. I am especially proud to lead the BTPS Social Emotional Coach Team, through which we offer evidence-based, empathetic support to our students and their families, meeting their unique social-emotional needs on an individual basis.
I feel incredibly grateful for the many opportunities I have had, and will have, to work with and learn from the students, school staff and professional colleagues in Buffalo Trail Public Schools.
